Alistair Mason Drew

-Played By Cat-

Nickname(s): Al, Drew

Age: 17

Grade: Senior

Birthday: October 6th

Appearance: Although they're twins, Alistair and McKenzie only share two things in common, their blond hair and blue eyes, both of which came from their grandmother as neither of his parents have either. He towers over McKenzie though and most others at 6'2" and is a very muscular 200lbs due to playing several different sports. You'll usually find Alistair wearing a pair of bootcut jeans and a T-shirt from either Gap, American Eagle, or Abercrombie. He's not a label fiend like many, nor does he really dress up for that matter, except of course on required days for games. No Al is much more comfortable in just jeans and a t-shirt.

His blonde hair was recently cut and he's decided to keep short for good. During the summers he usually lets it grow out a bit longer, but once football practice gets underway, he prefers it to be shorter as it is cooler. If you're ever to stumble upon Alistair reading a book, you'd find him with a pair of rather distinct looking glasses on him. He's had to wear reading glasses since he was a child and has been told he looks rather distinguished and intellectual wearing such....if they only knew the truth that he really was neither of those things.

Personality: Alistair is a fairly serious individual but he does know how to let loose and have little fun. He's a kidder if there ever was one, though not a jokester, despite the fact that he's been known to pull practical jokes on several of his close buddies. He likes making his friends feel at ease and is overall just trying to be a people pleaser. He's not overtly friendly like McKenzie, as she could probably have a conversation with a rock, but instead sticks to his own circle of friends and is content there. He is a closet romanticist though, which is one thing he and his sister share...perhaps it's in the genes. He keeps that side of him though hidden from the guys on the football team most of all as he knows that only puns and jokes would soon follow once they found out that Big Al has a mushy side. He puts on a tough exterior for the guys on the team, but he's really just a big loveable teddy bear to most of his close friends.

Due to various events in his life as well as his sister's, Alistair is fairly protective of his family, especially his sister, he's promised McKenzie that this year he would be different and he'd stay out of her love life, letting her handle things herself. Alistair does have a fairly quick temper and has been known to fly off the handle at times and usually resorting to violence, but he is learning to control it for everyone's sake, focusing it more on the field than off. He's also protective of the women in his life, including his friends. He's not the "love 'em and leave 'em kind," which infuriates him about some of his so called "friends" that are. He tries not to have a problem with it as long as they stay away from his sister and his close friends. If they don't, there's sure to be trouble as he much prefers to confront someone than let it slide.

One thing though that Alistair can simply no longer stand is the fact that he is constantly living in McKenzie's shadow. His parents go on and on about how she can do this and that and the other and still maintain such high grades. Teachers at school are constantly comparing the two. He tries hard, really he does, but he's just not as smart as McKenzie and he will probably never make straight A's like she does. Even though he's trying his best to do well, it's like everything he does is just not good enough for his parents or teachers. And so he can't wait to get out of Ridgefield and start anew, where no one knows him and he can make a name for himself.

Mr & Mrs Drew

Family: The only son, and middle child by only two minutes, of Dr. Christopher and Anna Drew, Alistair has a very close knit family even though they don't spend that much time together. Her parents, although happily married for 20 years and former high school sweethearts, are rarely home at the same time. His father, an OB/GYN who's schedule is never regular, tries to spend as much time with his children as he can, but childbirth is hardly easy to predict. Anna, his mother, is a successful interior designer and owns her own company, Delta Designs. This job often takes her out of town, whether it be to other towns in Delta County or to Chicago, L.A, or New York.

The two grew up in Ridgefield, he was from an upper crust Laurelhurst- esque family, and she was, well not, residing with her single mother and her three brothers in a tiny two bedroom apartment in Greenwich. While at first his parents didn't approve of the two dating, they were soon overcome with Anna's good nature that they soon accepted her into the family as one of their own. While Christopher was off doing his residency in Green Bay, Anna took classes at NMU, soon excelling in all of her interior design courese, leading her to open up her own business, with her future in-laws help of course. Once Christopher returned to Ridgefield, a degree in hand and initials at the end of his name, he proposed marriage, to which she accepted.

The outcome was more than they could've ever imagined. Fraternal twins followed by a girl, Sienna five years later.

information for more details.

History: Alistair has lived in the same town, Ridgefield,MI all of his life. From the moment his father delivered him and his twin McKenzie at Ridgefield memorial up until now, his senior year in high school, he's been a lifer of the town, only venturing away for the family vacations or a rare trip up north to Canada. He had a fairly "normal" childhood, growing up in their house in Capitol Hill, his father a member of the country club, his mother a dutiful member of the PTA all throughout he and McKenzie's years in elementary school. Up until middle school, everything seemed to be picture perfect.

When he was 10, his sister went through a long hospitalization period. He had been home with his grandmother and Sierra while his parents and McKenzie were at yet another gymnastics competition. He just remembered the phone ringing and being rushed to Ridgefield Memorial, where he saw his sister lying in a hospital bed and looking so lifeless. His grandmother sat with him and his younger sister while his parents remained with their precious little girl and Alistair remembers his "Nana" telling him stories of when she was younger and what she did to pass the time. He'd always been closer to her than anyone else in the family as he felt she understood him the best and, when breast cancer struck her two years later, he again found himself in the hospital, watching her die. She never told him he wasn't good enough, never scolded him for not being like his sister, just constantly reminded him that he was an individual and was meant for great things. To this day he carries her picture around with him in his pocket to remind him of the little words of wisdom she always had for him, along of course with a Werther's Original. He never speaks of her though, just thinks of her often and her soft blue eyes.

One thing she taught him was to never give up on his dreams and Alistair refuses to do that. He wants to get out of Ridgefield, head for the open road and see the world. But first he just needs to get into a good school on some sort of athletic scholarship. He really doesn't care if it's football, basketball, or soccer...he' ll take any of it as long as it takes him away, FAR away. He could see himeslf doing a lot of things after college, maybe acting, maybe film making, maybe law, maybe even teaching English Lit, which he has a secret passion for, but the sky is the limit as far as he's concerned and he's not letting his parents tell him he can't shoot for the stars.
