Carli Sahara Donald
- Played By Maya-
Nickname(s): Cee-Cee (By her mother), Kay
Age: 17
Grade: Senior
Birthday: June 19
Appearance: Carli has a
thin figure, not exactly skin and bones, but no one
would ever think her fat. With strands of dark brown
cascading down at least an inch below her shoulders,
often tucked behind her ears out of the way, enhancing
those chocolate brown eyes. Her cheeks are just slightly
baby doll plump, along with full lips colored peach,
down to the firm chin that only completes her childish
features. Quite often she is seen wearing a light shade
of make-up, something along the lines of skin color. She
generally keeps her makeup light and 'natural' though.
She looks pretty as she is so she doesn't need a lot
more than to simple enhance her features. She also wears
contacts instead of the occasional glasses she was
forced to wear as a child. Carli also stands at just
barely 5'2", making her a small girl all around.
Sometimes still mistaken by people for being 13 or 14
years old as she's so petite and while not completely
undeveloped her chest is small.
She often considers herself dainty and elegant, but
never perfect and sexy the way other girls think they
are. Carli's regular clothing style is generally
'pretty'. She tends to not wear typical t-shirts and
never paired with jeans. If she wears a t-shirt it's
with khakis or a skirt. And if she wears jeans she pairs
them with a 'pretty', fancier more elegant top. She
values comfort in her clothing though, sometimes
lounging around with her pyjamas still on while at home.
Personality: Carli has
a reserved personality, confident, but shy, although no
matter how shy she can be, if she is harasses enough, or
someone she cares about she'll yell or name call as well
as the next guy. Often she's seen helping out others,
with a caring attitude. She likes things neat and
organized and she keeps careful care of her bedroom and
at times will pick up around the rest of the house.
She's been known to volunteer at charities and
retirement communities, as well as with kids. She likes
being around people, but is sometimes nervous around
them, especially her peers. She often has a much easier
time talking to adults or little kids. She's at her
shyest whenever she's around a nice guy, or even a nice
looking guy.
No matter how helpful Carli can be, nobody is nice all
of the time. Carli has her bad side, and if she's mad
she can have quite a temper, so much it scares her
sometimes. She fears becoming like her father, that
somehow his cruelty could be passed to her by the blood
they share. She's been known to scream, throw things.
And once at her old school another girl was harassing
her to the point Carli got so mad she hit the girl.
Carli loves art and loves to paint. She sometimes will
get lost in it, and can get frustrated if her creative
'flow' is interrupted. Her drawing started long ago as a
child when she would sit in her room with a box of
crayons for hours. It's her way of dealing with pain and
blocking out all the things she'd rather not think
about.
Family:
Her parents met when her mother was 18 years of age and
her father was 31, even though it was quite an age gap,
Caslin fell in love with Garett while she was going to
school. Garett was a teacher at her high school. Caslin
had been interested by his intelligence, and at the time
seeming maturity. He resisted the relationship for some
time, but after a while found her too intriguing. When
Caslin got pregnant though he wasn't sure the
relationship should continue and broke it off. Telling
her she couldn't tell anyone he was the father, since it
could threaten his career.
Caslin Donald - Mother - 35 years old - Secretary - A
loving and caring mom, but she sometimes makes bad
choices, always has. But she regrets a lot, but not
everything, as she wouldn't have her daughter if it
weren't for some of those bad choices. But there are a
few things she does regret, like letting Garrett back
into her life after he initally said he wanted nothing
to do with her when she got pregnant. She has a weakness
for him, but she's hoping a new town will keep him away,
and keep her from being tempted to take him back, again.
Garett Rosington - Father - 48 years old - teacher &
alcoholic - Garett had always had a temper, but alcohol
made it worse. Not quite the horrible guy the rumors in
their home town made him out to be, but he wasn't
exactly going to get labelled a sweet guy either. He'd
honestly cared about Caslin when he met her, find her to
be different than most girls her age. But he got scared
when she said she was pregnant. He's made a lot of
mistakes, and he's realizing he's been horrible.

Carli's Mother
|
History: Carli was born
in Madison, Wisconsin. She lived there a while, on the
outskirts of the city, though perhaps not in the best
area. She lived with her mother and her grandparents for
the first few months of her life until her grandparents
died in an auto accident, a guy in an SUV who'd fallen
asleep at the wheel and hit her grandparent's car.
After word spread of the accident, Garett heard and
offered Caslin and his daughter a home. For a while it
was good, Carli went through her toddler years
beautifully, her dad taking a liking to her and enjoying
being a family. It seemed no one seemed to notice what
had happened, then a few people at the school started
asking questions after one of Garett's female students
said he'd been making passes at her and had patted her
butt one day after class. He insisted that he'd just
been friendly to her and she mistook it as flirting. And
the pat must have been an accident he didn't even recall
occurring. No other incidents were mentioned and so it
wound up being dismissed, though the girl changed
schools. And Caslin said no relationship occurred until
after she graduated. It had been close enough timing
wise that Carli's birth seemed to fit. She'd actually
been born late, but was so small still that people
believed she could have been born premature.
Caslin started asking Garett when they might get
married, it seemed to her the thing to do, they were in
love, living together, and had a child. Garett dismissed
the talk, and before long he began drinking more than
casually and coming home late with tell tale signs he
wasn't faithful. Caslin of course was not happy about
this, and when she started to ask questions, demanding
to know what Garett was doing, the abuse started to
emerge. At least it was when Carli noticed it. She never
could be sure if it hadn't happened before then. She was
about 7 at the time. Her mother was determined though to
make it work. Garett still said he cared about her, and
every time his temper would flare up he came home the
next day, sober and sweet, flowers in hand. Caslin loved
him, she wanted to believe he'd stop, he was the father
of her child, and at this point he'd never laid a hand
on Carli.
When Carli got to be about 11 though, and she was
starting to want to wear a bra and shave her legs, even
though she didn't have much for a bra to do, and her
legs didn't really need shaving yet. She started having
crushes and becoming a little lady and not just a little
girl. All this somehow changed the way her father looked
at her. And one night when he came home and found that
Carli was staying out till after dark at the movies with
a coed group of friends and no parent present he was
angry. Her mother was already hidden in her room when
she came in and Carli got upset, she'd asked permission
from her mom and it wasn't like anything was going on.
She hadn't even held a boy's hand. But her defiance
upset him, he'd been drinking and he hit Carli that
night for the first time.
Soon Carli became just as easy a target for Garett's
drunken rages as Caslin. And when Caslin realised he was
hitting Carli she packed them up and moved out.
Thankfully Caslin had an Aunt Taresa near by who could
take mother and daughter in. They were protected from
Garett there, as Taresa had some money and a security
gate around her home.
Carli was sent to one of their best private schools in
the area. They had small classes, a campus with
security, and Taresa arranged transportation to and from
school for Carli so she was safe at all times. Caslin as
well had found a place to work at an office in downtown.
They felt safe and after the first few weeks living with
Taresa they heard nothing from Garett.
Taresa was engaged to be married and her fiancé,
Matthew, was living with them. He'd even become
something of a proper father figure to Carli. They
married when Carli was 15, but soon after the couple
started to fight. Matt was not the sort to take out his
anger, but the yelling scared Carli. She hadn't been
around fighting were someone didn't get hurt. The couple
divorced and without prenuptials Matthew got a good sum
of Taresa's holdings. They had been together for a long
time before marrying and he had contributed a lot to
her. They sometimes wonder if had they just remained
living together and never married if things would have
worked out. Taresa said she was still happy to and able
to pay for Carli's schooling, but something about her
aunt's break up made Caslin realize she needed to get
out on her own with her daughter. Especially when they
began receiving strange and threatening calls and a car
had been seen lurking frequently outside the home.
Caslin debated what was best for her and Carli, and
decided she needed to prove to Carli that they could
make it on their own. And she hoped a little distance
from this place might help them both get a fresh start.
They moved several hours north and a bit east to
Michigan.
Carli started a new school for her senior year, and is
trying to deal with meeting new people and making new
friends, all while trying to ignore the past she left
behind. Caslin has found a job to keep them in a decent
home and fed and clothed. Though they couldn't afford
the kind of nice home Taresa had or the kind of
neighborhood. They have what they need, and with Carli
working now and getting active at school she didn't have
too much time to think about it all. Caslin as well
works long hours, keeping herself busy both to keep her
mind off her mistakes and because they could use the
money now.
But recently her mother informed her that somehow Garett
had found out they moved to Ridgefield. Taresa said he'd
called her house and been lurking around until finding
they no longer lived with her. Carli's scared and
haunted by the knowledge that her father knows where she
lives, afraid that he'll come back to hurt her and
her mom again. Worried if he finds them he'll even kill
them maybe for leaving. Carli doesn't know what her
father could or couldn't be capable of anymore.

Other Information: Carli is
allergic to anything sea-food, raw fish and lobster are
two things that bother her, especially the smell itself.
She also plans on opening her own art museum when she
finishes school.
Likes: She absolutely adores anything artistic.
Even if it's any bit of crazed splashing over a canvas.
Even she has done that. She loves a romantic guy. One
other thing she does like is the smell of roses. Roses
are one of her favorite flowers, and perhaps the only
favorite, which is why she paints pictures of roses at
times, or includes one in her painting. Another thing
Carli likes are artistic people, poets, or any people
into designing and creating as much as she is. She loves
school and loves having lots of friends to spend her
time with. She also likes her mother, for everything
she's done to keep the two out of pain and anguish.
Dislikes: Carli doesn't like anything that has to
do with hate. Hate-crime or abusive and controlling
guys, it scares her and reminds her of her father. There
are many new things Carli tries, but one thing she will
never try is sex before she's ready or drugs because she
doesn't like the idea of being so out of control. She
also doesn't like girls who are so desperate for
attention that they'll do anything to get it, even lie,
manipulate, and hurt people.
Quote: "Life is one big
canvas. So much room to try new things, mould it, splash it, do whatever
you want. It's yours if you want it, but you have to work for
it to look just right"
Any extra-curricular non-school activity:
Carli baby-sits sometimes for a little extra cash beyond
what she makes at work. Quite often she is seen in her
own art-room in the basement, splashing up a brand new
canvas to show at an Arts Festival. | |
