Corey Michael Tucker
--MOVED AWAY--
Nickname(s): None.
Age: 18. Corey's parents decided
to enrol him late in kindergarten, so he's one of the oldest
in his class.
Grade: Senior.
Birthday: April 6.
Appearance: Corey looks like
a heartbreaker. He's an even six-feet tall with an athletic
build and toned body. His hair is always kept a little on the
shaggy side; it was blond when Corey was a child, but now it
looks more like a light brown. Shades darker than this are his
eyes, a rich chocolate brown in hue. Apparently it is the combination
of Corey's dark eyes and bright smile that makes the girls swoon.
Though he himself has never been able to understand it, the
females of his grade are usually drawn to him. Perhaps it is
the energy and intensity that seems to smoulder in the air around
him.
Nothing about Corey's dressing style is abnormal. He prefers
to be on the preppier end of the spectrum, and is often seen
sporting American Eagle or Abercrombie. He never appears to
be a pretty boy, though, for that label is one he carefully
avoids. Always there is a hint of scruffiness in Corey's clothes.
Sometimes it's a slightly wrinkled shirt, and other times it's
a little stubble over his cheeks and chin. Luckily for Corey,
he never seems dirty or repulsive; to the contrary, it only
seems to add to his charm.
Personality: Above all, Corey
is laid-back. After many years of worry, he has finally learned
to relax and flow with the crowd. He is one to meld with the
attitudes of his friends; since Corey's an athlete, this usually
includes the "jock" crowd. Nevertheless, his confidence
comes from self-approval, so he never looks to others to boost
his ego. As a result, Corey's able to avoid the obnoxious cockiness
so often associated with his ilk. That's not to say that he
isn't known to be boastful around the "ladies." Corey
has a natural knack for flirting and for speaking with people
in general. He is certainly not above putting those skills to
work for his benefit.
There is more depth to Corey than those pursuits, however. He
has a brooding side that he largely keeps hidden from the world,
though it surfaces occasionally as a distant stare in his eyes.
Corey loves "classic rock" music, and listens to it
incessantly. He's even picked up the guitar to play some of
his favorite songs, though he's not particularly talented at
it. Classic literature and classic movies are two other genres
that Corey enjoys; that makes him somewhat of an anomaly among
his friends. Additionally, though he'd deny it to the grave,
Corey has a sensitive soul and is a true romantic at heart.
He is endearingly sentimental and sweet to the people he holds
closest to his heart.
Still, the overwhelming emotion that Corey experiences is confusion.
He was deeply affected by his father's sudden departure from
his life, perhaps moreso than any member of his family realizes.
All through elementary school, Corey cried himself to sleep
at night since he missed his father so much. This is when sports
began to be nearly a religion for him; coaches provided the
"male figure" in Corey's life and served as his role
models and idols. Thus, although he was able to gain control
of his emotions in recent years, Corey still feels like a piece
of his life is missing. He harbors a secret and childish desire
for his parents to remarry.
Corey channels all that upset energy into determination to make
something of his life. He is one of the most focused and driven
seniors at the high school, a quality that all who know him
recognize in him. Corey never does something halfway, throwing
himself wholeheartedly into any task. Corey has committed himself
to getting good grades, so he has a 4.0 GPA in a schedule littered
with Honors and APs. Corey has committed himself to being a
good athlete, so he trains heavily through the off-season, including
a running and weight-lifting regimen that is nearly suicidal.
His mother, Amy, is credited largely with this personality trait
of Corey's; she is the exact same way in her business life.
Family: Corey and his two siblings
-- Blake (14) and Kelly (12) -- are the product of a single-parent
home. They reside with their mother, Amy Fitzgerald, who divorced
their alcoholic father, Andrew Tucker, when Corey was only six.
Amy is the true illustration of the "modern working woman."
In addition to raising her three children, she serves is a published
fiction author and works fulltime as Town Attorney for Ridgefield.
Her responsibilities range from advising the Town Board on legal
matters to drafting legal documents to defending the town in
all levels of the judicial system.
Their family is abnormal by Ridgefield standards, but still
very happy. Corey is close to his siblings, and his mother teases
him for "mother-henning." Blake, who is a freshman
at Richmond this year, idolizes his big brother; for as long
as he can remember, Corey has been his champion. Though Corey
fosters a great relationship with Blake, he is especially protective
of his younger sister, Kelly. She was a premature baby, so she's
rather small for her age; additionally, Kelly has dyslexia,
a condition that caused her to be teased and called "stupid"
throughout elementary school. Corey was always there to dry
her tears, and even had a few "chats" with the biggest
bullies. She often jokes about what Corey will do once Kelly
starts dating.
History: Corey and his two siblings
were born in Washington DC. Their parents, Andrew and Amy, were
a high-power pair inside the Beltway. Andrew, a product of New
England "old money," was rising as a promising political
figure, while Amy had her name known in the legal circles. Happiness
for the couple was fleeting, however. Only months after the
birth of their only daughter, Amy filed for divorce: her husband
had been drinking and cheating too much for her taste. Nasty
rumors and accusations flew between the two, but Amy won full
custody of her children. Corey and his siblings have seen their
father only a few times since then. Andrew is, however, very
punctual with holiday and birthday cards.
The move to Ridgefield was a result of Amy's divorce. She had
been raised in the small Michigan town, and decided it would
be the perfect place for her children to grow up. Never one
to fear a challenge, Amy put her career plans on hold and moved
halfway across the country. Such a gamble proved success for
the family, and they quickly and happily settled into Ridgefield.
Corey has only faint memories of his previous life, and Blake
and Kelly virtually none. All have grown roots in this region,
including Amy, who rose from the ranks of an obscure local lawyer
to serving as Town Attorney. She is actually the first woman
to hold the position in Ridgefield.
Amy constantly challenged her children to be the best they could,
and Corey took her words to heart. Since his first day of school,
he has been a dedicated and passionate student with an above-average
level of intelligence. Math and science courses come easily
for him; writing proves a little more difficult, but with his
self-discipline, he is able to achieve high marks in his English
classes. Corey is equally accomplished on the athletic field,
and is a four-year Varsity player in both soccer and lacrosse.
The latter sport is his forte; last year, he was one of the
top-ranked attack men in the section. Corey has already been
contacted by several college scouts, and he hopes that an athletic
scholarship will help defer college costs next year.
Neighborhood: Kensington - Though
far from a palace, Corey's family's home is spacious
and attractive. It's a cheerful brick build with a rolling lawn
and beautiful garden of roses alongside the garage. In addition,
much to everyone's delight, a pool was installed in the backyard
three summers ago.
Job: Vultures. He's held the
job since the end of the junior year lacrosse season. It gets
difficult balancing work with school and sports, but the tips
prove a powerful incentive for Corey.
Vehicle: Silver 2001 Jeep Grand
Cherokee. Corey split the cost of the car with his mother for
his birthday last winter. It had nearly 70k miles on it by the
time of purchase, but Corey wouldn't complain; he was just glad
to have a car.
Best Friend(s): Corey is friendly
with everyone in the high school, as he cares little about social
rank and status. He's closest to Ty Parker, as well as the guys
he plays with on sports teams. There are few people Corey actually
dislikes, though at the head of that list would be Jacob Moss.
Corey and Jacob played lacrosse together last year, and Corey
grew to dislike the senior intensely; he thinks of Jacob as
an egotistical jackass absolutely devoid of any redeeming qualities.
Dating Status: Currently single.
Always looking, but never really finding the "right girl."
Surprisingly, Corey seems to want a more "serious"
relationship than his high school counterparts; this is something
he rarely confesses. Though he jokes around with the guys about
an easy lay, Corey really wants a serious girl who he can always
count on. His last relationship was a casual spring fling with
Sloan Michaels, and he's only been dating casually since then.
Social Status: Corey enjoys a
popular status at the high school, largely because of his participation
on sports teams. Though not the "ruling class" of
the high school, he's not many steps below, and has many friends
at the elite social level.

a mild stutter; he's very sensitive about the subject. It was
rather severe in his childhood, but in recent years it has become
nearly unnoticeable. Usually the condition surfaces when he's
angry or upset, essentially any occasion calling for extreme
emotion.

His music, particularly Eric Clapton and Counting Crows. His

with by girls. Cuddling and hugging. Reading crime fiction novels.
