Appearance: Derek is 5’11 with a solid, semi-muscular body and weighing in at around 175lbs. He has deep green eyes that can be intense when you look into them for too long and Derek has been known to hold your gaze when engaging a you in conversation. He has dark to light brownish hair that he keeps cut short at the back and sides, a little long on top and is always styled before he will leave the house.

In terms of style, Derek is meticulous about his appearance. His shirts are ironed (though not by him) and though he tends to prefer denim to cotton, he won't wear clothing once it has become scuffed or worn, giving his jeans a life of no more than two or three months at the most. His trademarks could be considered any number of his leather jackets often warn over a turtleneck or other, slightly fitted shirt. In the summer he will always have a pair of Ray Bans on his head or keeping the sun out of his eyes and all year round you will catch a hint of expensive aftershave wafting through the air as he walks past.

Personality: While some people might have to go out of their way to flirt with a girl, Derek is by nature a flirtatious person. He has a devilish side and wicked grin to match that has often helped him to appear charming even in general conversation. Some may say that he uses his looks and his money to get what he wants though if truth be told, Derek has never really known the meaning of having to work for anything.

Yes, he knows girls find him attractive and he knows that he has more money at the age of 18 that some may ever hope of having but he doesn't feel this need to flaunt it to prove he's all that. People know his name, they know where he comes from and he shouldn't have to spell it out for them. Then again, when somebody goes out of their way to push his buttons he'll gladly put them in their place.

Though he is generally seen hanging with Scott, Thad, Wes, Si & Erik, his friendships do span beyond his immediate circle. In saying that, he only associates with the popular cliques, thinking anything less than that is a waste of time.  If you are associated with money and popularity then he would speak to you whether it just be a wave or a little smile.

In terms of family life, his father never has a steady girlfriend and is always bringing a different one home every night. Without a strong role model one might say that Derek has developed his attitudes towards women from an early age in life and thrives off of the attention that girls will give him. Though it might be a reach to consider him a ladies man, he lives for the thrill of flirting with females and watching them swoon and giggle in his presence.

One thing about Derek is that he won't sleep with all the girls he comes in contact with. Flirting with females is like a hobby to him. He has that whole leave them, love them attitude, but it's a big front. If the right female came around and got into that heart of his, he'll probably be the first to settle down out of his group, but it won't just be any old girl. He has high expectations in terms of looks and status and his upbringing has taught him to expect nothing less than the very best. For now though, he's enjoying the freedom of being single.

History: Derek was born in Ridgefield, Michigan to the wealthy parents of Mark and Susan Forseman, Derek was expected to live something of a charmed life from the day that he was conceived. Susan Forseman was however someone that Derek never even got the chance to meet. Due to complications cause by undiagnosed preeclampsia, Susan did not survive the birth of her one and only son, leaving a prematurely delivered Derek on life support.

Eighteen years later, Derek doesn't know anything about his mother, her personality, what she liked or disliked. His father has never been able to talk about her and though he doesn't blame Derek for the loss of his wife Derek often wonders how different their life might have been were she still alive today. Derek's father will try and be there for Derek whenever he has the time but Derek has spent much of his life taken care of by his nannies who have been the in his eyes the only mother figures he has ever known.

Since the death of his wife, Derek's father has been seemingly unable to maintain a functional relationship with the opposite sec. Growing up, Derek's life has been filled with many different women, some that were short lived and others were just there but never really becoming anything he could think of as a mother. Just when things would seem to be getting serious, Derek wouldn't see her around anymore and a new person would be dropping by for weekend visits instead.

His dad has always seemed to think that money is the cure for everything, throwing money in Derek's direction whenever he found the need to complain. Derek, perhaps too early in life realised that he was never going to receive the sort of attention that most fathers gave their sons and rather than allow it to sink him, he seemed to rise above. He learned how to be independent yet always knew that if he wanted for anything, he only needed to put out his hand and his father would give him the money. Money may not be able to buy love but it did buy him some sort of happiness growing up and it continues to keep him in the finer things in life.

His house has 8 bedrooms, 8.5 bathrooms, grand living area, family and billiard rooms, a lovely pool and deck, spa, cold and hot Jacuzzi, lush landscaping, and full service boat dock with direct lake access. He knows Scott isn't from Laurelhurst, but he carries himself as if he had the money and the power and the respect and with that Derek was impressed, so he let the boy into his his circle of friends and the two have been best friends since.

Dating Status: Single - Derek have had one serious relationship during his Sophomore year with Madison Thompson. It wasn't a full out relationship, because well Derek couldn't be serious with it. He was still flirting with girls while dating Madison, so they came to the conclusion that they were better off being friends. He have ran into a few girls that have either gotten on his bad side, under his skin or into his thoughts. One girl that has been lingering in his there for some times now is Bethany Armstrong. He isn't normally the bubbly type of guy so the attraction may have seemed strange but there is something about the girl that has caught his interest and he may well be harboring something of a crush on her.
