Kristen Anne Brown
-Played By Brooklyn2181-
Nickname(s): Charlie, Tenners,
Kris, Krissie (Jared & Kiralee), CB (Danny) Most people actually
just call her Charlie. Kristen (Mostly by Wes though other friends
will occasionally use her given name)
Age: 18
Grade: Senior
Birthday: January 4th (A Capricorn)
Appearance: Exactly 5'7", Charlie
has brackish hair that falls just below the shoulders. It has a
tendency to curl slightly, and she often straightens it with
her blow dryer. Come Winter though with the moisture in the air
there is nothing that will take the kink out so she tends to just
go with it until it starts to warm up again. Her hair is always
neat, but usually thrown up in five seconds, and uses her
sunglasses to keep it from falling on her eyes.
She has hazel eyes that her friend Kiralee used
to refer to as cats eyes, that tend to change between blue, green
and yellow depending on her mood and what she is wearing. When
she's angry they go an almost frightening yellow color,
accentuating the fire in her eyes when she glares at you. It's a
pretty scary sight to behold though it's rare that she ever gets
pushed to that point.
She
is rather muscular, though toned not bulky. She plays a decent
amount of sport which keeps her fit though she's not the sort of
girl you'd see dragging herself out of bed on a Sunday morning to
go for a run. Weekends are sacred, especially when it comes to
sleeping in. She's generally healthy in what she eats but that
doesn't mean she's the sort of girl that won't go for Pizza when
the mood takes her. She is perfectly comfortable eating in front
of the opposite sex, you had to be when you grew up with two older
brothers.
You'll usually find her wearing a pair of jeans, and any
combination of fitted t-shirts and jackets. Her style touches on
rock but there is a sophisticated edge to what she wears. Her look
is in a way unique to her and sometimes you can walk through a
shop, see something and think immediately of her. She doesn't tend
to wear clothes that flaunt what she's got but she is comfortable
enough to wear something that will accentuate her figure. She is
completely unaware of how sexual she can be and look, which some
say adds to her appeal.
Personality: She comes across as
an outgoing individual, but it takes a lot to get to know the
real her. She can be far too trusting and lets so called friends
walk all over her. However when she does get fed up with it all
stay out of her way, cause she gets pretty angry. Loyal to a fault,
she will stand by her friends through thick and thin. Cross her
though and she'll never forgive you. She is the kind of person
who is easy to approach, but not so easy to uncover the real her.
When something is difficult, rather than deal and move on, she
has a bad habit of trying to avoid it completely. It's a trait
that many of her friends find frustrating, and sometimes
infuriating,
but it is not something that is so easily overcome. It's Charlie's
way of dealing with things, whether people like it or not.
She'll never date somebody that a friend of hers likes, even if
he isn't interested in them, but also expects the same of them.
She's fussy when it comes to dating, and is generally attracted
to the wrong kinda guy. She tends to like a challenge. If a guy
falls for her too quickly, she gets turned off. When guys do fall
for her though, she needs to be hit about the head with a baseball
bat to realize it. Her taste in the opposite sex, though not terrible,
has often made any sort of normal dating life impossible for Charlie.
What she likes, and what she should like are two completely different
things. The nice guy always seems to fly under her radar, and
as such, Charlie often ends up with the slightly egotistical (or
sometimes extremely so) jock. She may find herself attracted to
a different guy, but as she will never say anything, things rarely
have a chance to develop.
Charlie prefers the company of guys, as she finds most girls (not
all) to be frivolous and rather petty. She does still get along
with girls, such as Annalee, a friend
she has made through working at Othello's. The two have similar
views in ways, and blend together nicely. So, not all girls are
bad in her eyes. Together, these two epitomize the atmosphere
of Othello's. Always expect a fun and happy feel when they are
on together, and Charlie, tends to come out of herself even more
so in Annalee's
presence.
When it comes to family and her private life, Charlie is a very
guarded individual. Only those that have known her for a long
while know that her Mum is in a wheelchair and only two people
outside of her immediate family know what happened to cause her to
be so. She tends not to ask a lot of questions about people,
especially where home life is concerned as she does not want to
invite them to ask her questions in turn. She believes it's best
to leave that door well and truly closed, rather than to appear
rude when she in turn wont answer their questions.
When it comes to her private life, she likes to be certain about
something before she's willing to admit that there is in fact
something there. Quite often everyone else seems to know what she
is feeling about somebody before she even knows. In the early
stages of any relationship she can be quite closed off about her
life. She'll still be herself but if you're looking for her life
story you're not likely to get it. When she's committed to
somebody she allows her passionate side to come through and it's
often been said that she gives almost too much of herself when she
finds the one that she feels is worthy.
When faced with a decision she doesn't always follow her heart.
She's been burned too many times to let it rule her and though
sometimes she only ends up hurting herself more, she finds a way
to justify it to herself. Sometimes she lets other peoples
opinions influence her actions and yet, just as frustrating, she
will sometimes go against them on principle. What's hard about
Charlie is that she often makes mistakes but she always tries to
do the right thing and that makes it hard for her friends and the
people that love her to stay mad at her for very long.
Family: Dianne Brown - 47
- Homemaker - After the traumatic accident that left her
wheelchair bound, Dianne has struggled to find her place in the
world post her disability. Once she was a very capable woman who
was always rushing around after her children, putting food on the
table, making sure the bills were all paid and that everybody
seemed to be at least content. The loss of mobility however not
only brought a great deal of change to her in the physical sense,
but she found that her life and the family dynamics were also
beginning to mould into something else. Her husband became
somewhat distant and has been unable to really touch her since
that day. She suffers from wild mood swings though does her level
best to shield her family from the impact. In spite of the strong
encouragement by her Doctors, she has refused to seek counselling
after the accident and understandably continues to have a lot of
unresolved issues where her loss of lifestyle is concerned. To
Friends of her daughters she is the perfect mum, happy to wait on
them with treats such as home-made pancakes, nachos, and pizzas.
It is so rare that her children bring people to the house that she
truly enjoys getting to look after people, and get to know the
people that are a part of their lives. She often worries about
Charlie (moreso than her two sons) as she sees how much she tries
to hide things from her. They once had a very open relationship
but Charlie now tries to carry any burden on her own, not wanting
to overload her mum.
Gregory Brown - 49 - Civil/Structural
Engineer - Gregory Brown, in spite of his face appearing at the
dinner table has always been something of an absent father figure.
He has never taken a great deal of interest in the lives of his
children. He was never there to play catch with the kids or go to
watch recitals or sporting events. He's very much a product of his
own upbringing, but his wife does her level best to try and make
up for his shortcomings where his children are concerned. Greg
likes to keep up appearances and has an all most tragic addiction
to the home shopping network & E-Bay. Nobody is surprised when the
doorbell rings and a package is delivered. Usually he chooses junk
but on occasion they find themselves pleasantly surprised with
what he has bought. When Greg finds something he likes you can be
sure that next Christmas all three of the kids will get exactly
the same thing (Be it DVD Players, Computers, Televisions, even a
vacuum cleaner one year). He has always had trouble communicating
with other people and is known within his house for his short
temper. Though he has never struck one of his children (not
including the occasional spanking when they were younger) his tone
and choice of words can be just as abusive as being slapped across
the face. Since his wife's accident he has become much closer to
his son and pulled away from his wife and daughter. He is repulsed
by what the accident did to his wife, even though he would never
admit this to her or anyone else. At the core of it, he's not a
bad person. He may be judgemental and a difficult man to live with
but he truly does care for every member of his family, its showing
it that's the problem.
Mark Brown - 21 - Art And Design Major at
NMU - Mark is willing to put in the time and effort with anything,
as long as it suits him you see. He’s protective of the woman in
his life (namely his mum & sister) particularly his younger sister
Kristen, and tends to like to have a say in her life, especially
her love life. The two of them are still very close however, in
spite of the age difference, and most of the time are more like
friends than brother and sister. Mark likes Charlie to hang around
with his friends, but then that helps him to keep an eye on her.
He is slightly arrogant, but that is more confidence than anything
else. Not the sort to get into a fight, but will always be there
to back somebody up. He sort of wishes that Kristen had more
female friends, because then 'he' would have more to look at when
he brought his friends home. He is aware that there are issues
with his family and though it doesn't sit well with him he isn't
sure what he's supposed to do about it. He was always used to
having Sean around to be the responsible one but since moving to
Michigan he feels as though he has been looked towards to step up.
In some ways he has and though he's much better than his dad when
it comes to communication skills, he still doesn't know how to
talk about the 'big issues' with his parents. The only one he
really opens up to is Charlie, he just wishes she would do the
same sometimes.
Sean Brown - 26 - IT Manager - While their
father was often emotionally absent, Sean took it upon himself to
fill the gap in their lives as they grew up. He was the one always
cheering loudly from the sidelines at sporting events, he would
pick Charlie and Mark up from school as soon as he was old enough
to drive and when they needed help with homework, Sean was always
the one that would sit with them at the kitchen table and try to
help them get through it. He was also the one that bore the brunt
of their fathers judgemental side. Ever since he was a small
child, his father had been hard on Sean, expecting too much and
rather than the words 'I'm proud of you' ever passing his lips,
Sean often felt as though his father was setting him up to fail.
Though his mum was always there for him he often felt as though
she never did anything to defend him. He didn't know that she
would argue with him when all the children went to bed and though
he doesn't hate his mother by any means, he does resent her a
little. Sean met his wife during High School at a party yet at the
time, he was seeing somebody else as was she and nothing would
ever have been expected to come from it. The two reunited however
during College and both single, well it wasn't long before they
started dating and a surprisingly quick engagement followed. The
two did not marry however until after they had finished with their
studies and the conception of their first child came very soon
after. He, his wife and his daughter Ella all live in Australia.
He misses his siblings moreso than his parents but the distance
between the two countries makes it difficult for him to come and
visit.
Eve Brown - 25 - Qualified Dental
Nurse/Stay at Home Mother - Many have felt that Eve and Sean were
married so that Eve could get away from her overbearing,
emotionally abusive father. Truth be told that might have been the
case when they were first engaged but that does not mean that she
doesn't love Sean very much. He was the knight in shining armour
that she had always been hoping to find. Though appearances
suggest that Eve was raised in a good family, 10 minutes in the
presence of her father and anyone could see that life growing up
in that household must have been a living hell. She and Sean moved
out together while they were still in College (Thus allowing Eve
to be free of her father) and though she completed her studies she
very early on realised that what she wanted more than anything
else was to become Sean's wife and has his child. She did have to
wait all that long after their marriage as Ella was born only nine
months later. Eve had only just started working in her field when
she realised that she was pregnant and at six months, she gave up
work and has yet to return to it. She knows that her father-in-law
disapproves of this decision but at last check, she married Sean
and not his family. She does get along with the Brown Clan for the
most part, more so as Mark and Krissie (as she has always called
her) have gotten older and she herself has become a mother. She
and Sean have been trying to conceive their second child and Eve
is hopeful that they might have a boy.
Daniella Brown - 4 - Hyperactive Child -
Known by everyone as Ella, this four your old has been chewing the
ears off of anyone that cared to listen ever since she was 18
months old, holding full conversations while other children her
age were struggling with one syllable words such as 'Mum' or
'Dad'. Ella is very unafraid of strangers and it's not uncommon to
see her sitting all over somebody she has only just met, firing a
number of (often inappropriate) questions from a small child who
has yet to learn that sometimes the truth isn't all it's cracked
up to be. She loves the water and has a fascination with fish and
dolphins. She practically lives in her swimming pool at home and
if she's not there she's more than likely painting a picture
outside (Strangely enough, usually featuring fish and dolphins).
She loves it when her daddy calls her Nanna and Poppy and Mark
and Kissie (She still has trouble with her 'R's) Ella doesn't use
the terms Auntie and Uncle though she does understand that Mark
& Krissie are her Daddy's brother and sister. and quite often her
and her mum will send letters that include some of Ella's latest
masterpieces.

This
double story 5 bedroom, two bathroom plus ensuite, Victorian style
house with attic and basement,
has been home to The Brown Family for the last year. The house
is in superb shape, the reception rooms having 10' high ceilings.
One, perfect for entertaining and parties, opens out through the
sun room onto a deck and the back garden. There's also a dining
room, large kitchen with breakfast area, laundry room & pantry,
a huge walk in basement, and three completely finished attic rooms.
Several modifications were made to make the home wheelchair
accessible
(At the cost of Greg Brown's Engineering Company) Mr & Mrs
Brown live on the bottom floor, and Charlie & Mark's bedrooms
are on the second floor. The Attic rooms have been converted into
a study area for the two children. A games room is also located
on the second floor.
Job: Works Coffee Counter at Othello's,
which suit's her perfectly. Two of her closest friends, Annalee
Masterson & Hayden
Miller also work here, and Charlie also has a good friendship
with her boss, Paul
Dempsey that is more of a brother-sister than a boss-employee
relationship.
Vehicle: She's been learning how
to drive 'The American Way' over the summer, and finally got her
permit. She's actually a pretty good driver just so long as she
can remember to drive on the right side of the road (haha). It's taken
some time but she did manage to negotiate the purchase of a car
of her own. She'd been getting lifts with her brother everywhere
and managing on occasion to gain use of one of her parents cars,
but finally her dad gave in and agreed to get her a car. He wanted to go for safe and reliable, she of course wanted
something a little more flashy. In the end they compromised on
a Ford Mustang Convertible. He's
still not too sure about the decision but he does have trouble
saying no to his daughter when the right amount of pressure is
applied.

History: Charlie was born in Perth,
Western Australia, and grew up there. The community where her
family lived, and she later went to school in was fairly tight
knit, though had it's fair share of snobs, distinctly lacking
however in an obvious lower class. They lived about half an hour
out from the city, up in the hills where the kids could play
without any real fear of them being snatched or hit by a car.
Though childhood years could always be looked on fondly, the
children that lived here led quite a sheltered upbringing, not
being exposed to things like drugs and alcohol until they got
older. For The Brown Family this didn't seem to impact their own
children terribly, but there were other people that they knew
who's teenage children spiralled out of control at the first sign
of temptation.
Under the influence of two older brothers, Charlie was refusing to
wear dresses by the time that she could say 'No'. Dianne and Greg had been hoping for a daughter and had just about given up
when Dianne fell pregnant with Kristen. The thought of buying
pretty things and putting their little girl into ballet classes
was only short lived. They tried over the years to encourage the
feminine side of their daughter but when painting her room pink
and putting a unicorn border pattern around it only resulted in
tears, they quickly realised that perhaps it just wasn't meant to
be.
Idolising her older brothers, particularly Mark, she developed a
keen interest in sports, going to watch her brothers play on
weekends, jumping up and down in the stands like a little one
woman cheer squad (well, one child as the case may have been). By
the time she was five she was playing on a team that was coached
by her brother Sean, half the size of all the other kids in the
Under 11's league but by no means half as talented. Their first
season they one only one game, not that you would have known by
the smiles they wore. She can still to this day remember what it
had felt like to have their first win. She went home, put on 'We
are the Champions' by Queen and promptly got on the phone to give
a complete play by play breakdown to her friend Aaron who had been
unable to play that day.
Mr and Mrs Brown always encouraged their children
to try all sorts of different activities, wanting them to find
something that they were passionate about. When she was 7 it was
Gymnastics, at 8 it was Horse Riding and by 9 she was taking
swimming lessons twice a week after school at the local heated
pool. Though by no means a superstar, she was a strong swimmer
(having lived in the family pool at home by about the same time
that she learned to walk). It failed to become a real passion for
her and despite her coach urging her parents for her to start
taking it more seriously, her parents understood that this was not
what she would have wanted and allowed her to continue exploring
other avenues of outside interest. She continues to swim to this
day, even Co-Captaining the girls Swim Team at school but this
will always come second to the other things in her life.
By now Charlie was doing quite well in school, finding that she
never really had to work too hard to do well in her classes. She
was accepted into Academic Extension programmes that would take
place during her normal class time, and perhaps this was when she
found her love for performance. Though Speech and Debate was
hardly something that hooked her, being up in front of people and
offering something did. Now at the tender age of ten she was
begging her parents to enrol her in drama classes, but it didn't
stop there. Once she found her love of being on stage she went on
to take both singing and dancing classes, filling an already too
busy schedule. Horse Riding and Gymnastics were pushed to one side
and swimming was cut back to Saturday Mornings, leaving the rest
of her days for classes and basketball training or games.
The Brown's had always intended on sending their
youngest child and only daughter to an all girls school when it
came time for her to go to high school. Charlie, being the strong
willed twelve year old that she was however, had other ideas in
mind. She begged her parents to allow her to Audition for the well
known and respected 'College of the Arts'. Her Parents probably
hadn't realised that she would have been successful at the time or
perhaps they would not have allowed their daughter to apply. The
school was a good hour away from their home by car and though
their arts programme could certainly be commended, it did not have
the well rounded academic programme that they were hoping her to
become involved in.
When the acceptance letter came in the mail, their fate was
sealed. Mr & Mrs Brown knew that they couldn't say no to her now
and sacrifices in family time together would have to be made so
that she could continue to follow her childhood dreams. With one
son (Sean) now in University and another (Mark) in his
second year of High School, it seemed like the family would never
sit down to a meal together. Mark always had a Basketball game or
Practise to attend, Charlie a rehearsal or class and Sean, while
juggling his busy workload at University was also spending more
and more time with his new girlfriend, Evelyn.
The Brown's had always been a very close family until now, and
though you would not say that they had drifted completely, the
children at least were growing up so fast that it was almost
alarming to their parents. Greg spent more and more hours in at
the office leaving Dianne to run the house, pay the bills, take
Charlie to one thing before picking Mark up from another. She
tidied their bedrooms, put food on the table and still managed to
make time to love her children and be there when she knew
something was wrong. All three children have a strong bond with
their mother, perhaps more so than with their father and though
they don't always tell her that they appreciate her, she knows
that they do all the same.
Now it wasn't until Charlie was in High School that she met her
first boyfriend, Jared Hunter. Jared's brother was in the same
arts programme that she was (a year younger than her)
but it was Jared that Charlie found herself intrigued by. It was
a mutual attraction that initially drew them together, but over
time they opened up to each other, Charlie (or Krissie as she
was known at the time) found it easy to share herself with Jared.
They could talk openly and honestly on a level that was far greater
than what most people their own age could relate.
Their relationship intensified, their families both aware of what
had been developing, but perhaps not how fast it had been developing.
Not feeling she could tell her parents, Charlie lied to them so
that she could 'spend the evening' with Jared. It was the first
time for both of them, and they were so sure that this was the
right thing, that they were ready, and that it was meant to be.
It wasn't to remain a secret however, as the two were discovered
the next morning, and Charlie's mum was called to come and pick
her up. Like any mother she was distraught, had trouble accepting
that her daughter was growing up, that she was discovering things
that Mrs. Brown thought that she was still to young to be experiencing.
They bickered in the car, exchanged harsh words, both women crying...
and it happened. Mrs. Brown didn't see the four wheel drive coming
through the intersection. It was too late to swerve, too late
to stop the impact.
Charlie couldn't really be sure of what exactly happened next.
She remembered the smell of twisted metal, of gasoline dripping
onto hot bitumen. She can remember trying to stop the bleeding,
trying to save her mum, begging her to stay with her, begging
her not to leave her. The paramedics took over, rushing Charlie's mum
to hospital while they cut Charlie out of the wreckage. Her knee
had taken the brunt of the damage, her ankle trapped in the front
of the car. The pain became too much for Charlie, and at some
point, she lost consciousness...
She came in and out of consciousness over the next few days, the
drugs were probably what made it difficult for her to be really
aware of what had happened. She remembered the discussion that
she had, when she asked about her mum. The relief she felt at
hearing that her mother had survived was only short lived. There
had been too much damage to her leg., Infection set in, and they
had no choice but to amputate. At the time she didn't realize
how much her life, her families lives would change. She was just
relieved, so relieved that her mum had survived.
Over the following months though, Charlie realized how painful
it was for her mum. She felt selfish, thinking that her wish to
have her mother here had only caused her greater pain and suffering.
She blames herself for the accident, and though she has never
said so, on some level she blames Jared as well. She fell into
a depression of sorts, needing things that nobody was able to
give. Needing Jared and yet he couldn't be there for her. She
never saw him in the hospital and though she herself never tried
to call him, he never came to see her either - and though it killed
her, she almost needed it to be that way. Sometimes, just looking
at old photos was a reminder of what they had done, of the pain
that they had caused. He eventually returned to Santa Fe, and
Charlie honestly expected to never hear from him again.
It was half way through Charlie's second last year of school in
Australia (Just before school would have started up in the States)
that her Dad's company transferred
him here, meaning that Charlie has had to give up her school, friends
and home for a fresh start. She didn't want to move, in fact she
outright refused to leave at first, begging her family to allow
her to stay in Perth with her eldest brother and his now wife. She
didn't want to have to start over, to face the questions that
people would have, but in time, she came to see that this was
giving her the opportunity for a fresh start. Nobody here knew
what had happened. They would not know of the devastating changes
in her family, and perhaps staring over would in some way allow
her to forget her past.
At first Charlie doubted those thoughts, resenting the move more
than ever, but on her first day, she met two guys, Danny &
Casper. Casper was quick to woo her, and the two started dating,
becoming heavily involved. He knew nothing of her past, and he
didn't push. He allowed her to leave it all back in Australia,
allowed her to shed (or bury we should say) some of that guilt
that she had been carrying with her. She threw herself into the
relationship, losing herself in Casper, even more of herself than
perhaps she even realized.
It was a shock, a blast from the past when Jared and his Father
arrived in Ridgefield. Jared's parents had separated and Mike
(Jared's father) had thought that Ridgefield would be perfect. He,
unlike his son had stayed in contact with Mr and Mrs Brown after
Charlie's mothers accident and thought that if he had to make a
fresh start of his life, it might be nice to make it somewhere
where he actually knew somebody. They arrived in Ridgefield and there was Jared, seemingly expecting Charlie
to drop everything for him. But she had moved on, had tried to
wipe him from her life in an attempt to cope, and now his mere
presence was threatening to bring her world crashing down around
her again. Jared, being the jealous and protective type however,
did not take kindly to seeing Charlie with somebody else. Instead
of being honest, he resorted to mind games, and only strengthened
Charlie's resolve to not give into past feelings.
Casper & Charlie seemed to be the inseparable couple really.
Everybody thought they would last forever, but sadly... Casper
broke Charlie's golden rule, and his lies and deception caught
up with him. She grew tired of his constant jealousy, even though
it was merely a cover for the fact that he had wronged her, and
then lied to her to cover it up. Perhaps when she found out, he
really was being loyal to her, but by then it was too late. The trust
was broken for her, and she has refused to have anything more
to do with him. The day they broke up she walked out of his
house and in spite of his attempts to try and see her over the
summer, she knew that if she could just close the door on him then
she would be alright.
Through the rumor mill, she discovered that Casper would be seeing
out his Senior Year of school at another High School in Ridgefield
(Namely Pinebrook). It was probably the best thing that he could
have done for her because at the time, she didn't know if she
could have faced returning to school and seeing him every day. The
betrayal she felt from Casper changed her as a person. She cared for him very much, heck, she believed that he could
have been the one, but she feels now that her entire relationship
had been built on a lie. She has been hardened in a sense by
this experience and is determined not to make the same mistake
again. Like everything else that has gone wrong in her life, she
has tried to bury the pain that she feels, pushing it to one side
rather than dealing with it.
Throughout all of this, her two rocks
in this world have been her brother Mark, and Casper's now ex
best friend Danny. Between those two, working, and generally
trying to have fun... well she thinks about him less and less. She'll have a
bad day, and yep, all this has just added to her trust issues.
But in time she will move on, she has to. If not because that's
simply the nature of life, it will be because she needs to bury
herself in something else. Its a bad habit, and even she is not
aware of it, but Charlie always seems to end up with somebody
that doesn't know her past, pulling away when they become too
close, not wanting to let them get close enough to really hurt
her. She looks for the safe option but that doesn't always make
it the best one, and it doesn't always stay that safe.
Best Friend(s): Mark
Brown, Her brother and she are very close. Have been
for some time, especially since her mum's accident. Danny
& Charlie are close, and have become closer over the Summer
Holidays. Igor
through the Drama and Dance club, Bryce,
and many, many others that Charlie considers friends of hers.
Jared
Hunter, her ex from back home in Australia. Her fellow
staff members (Including Annalee
of course, and Hayden
who also happens to be her next door neighbor) at Othello's. They
are all pretty close, especially at work.
Dating Status: Undefined... After
what Casper did to her, she wasn't sure how easily she could trust
herself in another relationship. When she found herself back on
the proverbial bike it crash landed her into the arms of somebody
that seemed perfect in every way, but for the fact that they were
a teacher at her school. Since then she's discovered that her best
friend (Danny) has been in love with her for over a year now, Her
ex Jared is now trying his hand at being her 'friend' and that
leaves Wes. Good choice she thought - not close enough to actually
hurt her. They've been sleeping together and somewhere along she
has formed an attachment to him. Problem is? He slept with her
because of a 'Bet' made by a group of the guys and she's recently
found out. That seemed to spell the end for them until she felt
her friends (Danny & Jared in particular) were turning their back
on her and the only person that was there to try and offer her
some form of comfort was the very person that created the problem
to begin with. It is clear to her friends that she is more
attached to him than even she will admit and they see Wes &
Kristen as a train wreck waiting to happen.
Social Status: Popular - She's
not exactly top ten (As in Fab Four), but she is well known and
liked. She likes to think that she's a generally nice person,
not unwilling to associate with those that aren't of her immediate
social circle. There are still those however (usually those that
have never spoken to her) that assume Charlie is nothing more
than another 'it' girl. She was after all the girlfriend of Richmond's
star quarterback, and there are people that haven't given her
the opportunity to prove that she is so much more than that.

Other Information: Charlie had
some pretty worrying knee troubles last year, but has been having
intensive physiotherapy over the last 4 months or so. She's probably
right now, the fittest she has been since the car accident she
had with her Mum. She's dying for the Basketball season to start
up, but until then, she plans to throw herself into dancing and
acting, and had even considered trying out for the cheerleading
squad, just because she thinks it is 'So American', but she knows
she'd last all of five minutes before she'd say something to upset
the higher up's and figures she can find better things to do with
her time. She also has had a little trouble with Asthma through
her life, and though it doesn't bother her much these days, she
continues to carry an inhaler with her everywhere that she goes,
just to be on the safe side. Cigarette smoke doesn't effect her
all that much, but the smell of pot (somebody smoking it around
her) gives her severe asthma attacks, so much so that she usually
ends up in hospital.
Likes: Going out for Coffee, good movies ie.
The Crow, Fight Club, The Usual Suspects, The Shawshank Redemption.
Basketball, a casual game with some friends. Shakespeare, call her old
fashioned but she can easily lose herself in one of his plays
(preferably to his sonnets). Anything old in literary terms, the
classics so to speak. Annalee when she is excited about something.
Hugs from a friend. Charlie is a person that seems to thrive on
contact with other people, genuinely affectionate towards her
friends, she thinks nothing of kissing them hello and goodbye or
at her best, just because she wants them to know she is their
friend.
When it comes to music Charlie will always fall back on
her Australian Rock. Though artists like U2, Incubus and Placebo
can be found on her play list she will more often than not be
listening to the likes of The Red Paintings, Eskimo Joe, Evermore,
Jebediah, Darren Hanlon, Powderfinger, Silverchair, John Butler
Trio, Bernard Fanning and The Whitlams (to name a few).
Kristen's Music Playlist
Dislikes: Boyfriends who cheat, lying,
melodramatic or petty people. People that try to force her to talk
about something - Charlie insists that she'll deal with something
when she's ready to. The mentioning of Casper's name will still
leave her cold inside.
Quote: "If nothing we do really matters,
then all that matters is what we do."
Any extra-curricular non-school activity: A lot
of Charlie's spare time these days revolves around her place of
work - Othello's. If she's not working there, she's either studying
there, or just hanging out there, with friends and workmates.
