Miranda Isabelle Dubois

-Played By Holly-

Nickname(s): Randi, Ran

Age: 17

Grade: Senior

Birthday: May 26th

Appearance: To most Randy is a rather attractive young woman who doesn’t seem to really put an effort into her appearance. With naturally wavy golden blonde hair and large expressive blue eyes that are set against a “peaches and cream” complexion, she really has no need for lots of make-up. Though she does wear eye make-up, feeling the need to make her eyes stand out even more than they do already. Unlike most girls her age, Randi isn’t all that concerned with the latest fashion trends. While she wears clothing that for the most part accentuates her figure, she dresses more for comfort than anything else. While most might find her hair becoming, she finds it nothing more than an annoyance. Instead of spending an ungodly amount of money and time trying to tame it, she finds it more practical to either pull it up in a ponytail or back in a loose braid.

Personality: Randi unfortunately is not a person whom was blessed with tact. She tends to be the type of person who just seems to blurt out whatever is on her mind. Though the words leaving her mouth might not be the nicest, they are for the most part truthful. She likes to think that the saying “Honesty is the best policy” would best describe her outlook on life. Needless to say that her mouth hasn’t made her one of the most popular kids in the school. Even though she doesn’t always think about what she says, Randi is actually a really nice person. Once she considers someone a friend, she’ll do just about anything to help them out if they need it. She’s always laughing at the dumbest things. When she was younger, her mom would always tell her she needed a t-shirt that said “Easily Amused” on it, because it fit her.

Family:

Father- Michael D. Dubois -43- Michael is an Advertising Consultant who as of late has been spending more and more time out of town on business trips.

Mother- Grace M. Dubois -41- Grace use to work as a paralegal, but has taken a leave of absence to spend more time at home.

Son – Hadden W. Dubois -a little over a year- Hadden is a typical sweet loving toddler. He adores Blues Clues and Bob the Builder.

History: Randi was born and raised in Ridgefield. Growing up she was a happy child, always trying to make those around her smile. She was not one that would have ever been able to say that she had a terrible childhood. She did all the typical things growing up, Girl Scouts, Dance Classes, sleepovers, etc etc.

When she got into middle school, she found herself no longer trying to make those around her smile. Instead she decided that she wanted to fit in with the more popular students. She found herself going along with whatever one of the more popular students suggested. It didn’t matter if she got in trouble for it. She really didn’t care as long as she was accepted by those around her. In the beginning years of High School she was still following a long with the popular crowd. And it was with a select few that she was introduced to alcohol and drugs. Towards the end her sophomore year she began to hang out with Wes and his group of friends. It was during one of the groups little get together that she hooked up with Wes, or to be more specific slept with him. It wasn’t long afterwards that that Wes went off to France and she found out that she was pregnant. Of course her parents didn’t take the news well when Randi finally worked up the courage to tell them. But who could really blame them? Her father deeply embarrassed decided that it would be best if Randi spent the remainder of her pregnancy with his older sister. That way he’d be able to try to come up with a plausible excuses for his daughter’s condition. Though her mother wasn’t thrilled with the idea of sending her daughter away, she figured it would give Randi time to evaluate what she’d been doing with her life.

Evaluating was exactly what she did at her Aunts house. While she knew it would be hard to be a teen mom, she knew she’d never be able to give her child to a stranger to raise. She also realized that she had to make some serious life changes inorder to make a good parent. She realized that she didn’t need the approval of others and she had a mind of her own. And most importantly she knew she could never touch another drug in her life. Slowly a new Randi emerged. One who wasn’t afraid to speak her mind and actually had goals in her life.

The birth of Hadden was a long one, but without complications. He was a healthy baby and in Randi’s eyes was perfect. When her parents came to see her and their new grandson, her mother decided that it was time to bring them both home. She knew that Randi would need to finish high school and go to college in order to make a decent life for herself and Hadden. In order to do this she would need the support of her family.
She’d spent most of her Junior year with her Aunt, though luckily Randi home schooled during that time. She really didn’t want to return to Richmond High until her senior year, so she was also home schooled by her mother. She knew once she returned to Richmond, her life wouldn’t be easy. She knew people would ask where she’d been and why she’d left. While she would not have any problems telling people about Hadden she really didn’t want to say anything about Wes being the father. After all she hadn’t even been able to tell him that he had a son. And she felt that he had the right to know about him before anyone else. So now she’s started her senior year and so far she’s managed to avoid any unwanted questions.
