Peter Hopkins
-Available by Sample Post Only-
Nickname(s): Pete - he prefers
to be called Pete because he thinks 'Peter' sounds too formal.
Age: 17
Grade: Senior
Birthday: June 8
Appearance: Pete is far from
being a handsome Hollywood hunk but there's something natural
and quirky about him that some find very attractive. His style
is pretty simple and he's often clad in the most recent and
hippest skate wear. But he's also been known to just revert into
a simple tee shirt and jeans with sneakers.
He'd generally been clean shaven until partway through the
semester when he'd skipped it for a day or two and found that
the stubble made him look older, and now he's actually often got
a bit of the five o'clock shadow. His hair is what it is, he
keeps it simple, never one to spend exuberant amounts of time on
his appearance.
Above all else, Pete likes to be comfortable, and tends to
dislike any occasion that calls for him to put on anything
classified as 'nice', or with a tie.
Personality: Outgoing, Wild,
Funny describes Pete Hopkins in three words. Pete
will go to the furthest extent to get a laugh, even if he needs
to be a jackass. Sometimes he takes the joke a little too far
and really doesn't appear to know when to quit, some finding annoyance
in his humor. It's a rare moment when you find Pete Hopkins
being serious. Some interpret Pete to be a slacker and even
a geek but he has an odd way of making geekiness look cool as
he embraces his love for music, girls, video games, and skateboarding.
Family: Mother - Sally Hopkins,
49 - works at The Bridal Shop. She's a faithful church goer,
something that much of the rest of the family does
without. She doesn't judge or preach though, and allows her kids
to find their own paths and formulate their own belief systems.
Dotting and sometimes so much so it is seen as a 'nuisance' to
her kids when she is always asking if they're okay, if they want
something on a bad day, when all they really want is a little
time alone.
Father - Thomas Hopkins, 51 - Policeman, and is an atheist. He
wants the best for his kids, and tries to push them to succeed.
Though he tries not to be over bearing, he is concerned with
Pete's school work, but also knows that it's a struggle for his
son. He just wants to see Pete be happy and successful someday.
Sister - Skylar Hopkins, 13 - She's quickly becoming a teenage
girl, complete with moody moments, bad hair days, and the usage
of the phrase, 'you just don't get it' to one or both of her
parents. She's feeling misunderstood by her parents, but she
loves them.
Brother - Chester Hopkins, 10 - Probably a pretty typical 10
year old, enjoys video games, skateboarding, like his big
brother. However, Chester does seem to be a little quieter and
less rowdy than Pete. He's content to sit and draw pictures and
play for hours and is a pretty strong student.

History: The Hopkins, originally
from Detroit, settled down in Ridgefield just a few months before
Peter was to be born, looking for a more stable environment
away from the city to raise their family, adding Pete to the
list of Ridgefield-lifers. Four years after the birth of Pete,
he became ecstatic when his parents "began popping out
more babies" (as he so tactfully puts it), embracing his
role as big brother as he has a great relationship with both
his younger sister, Skylar, and little brother, Chester.
Since he was a toddler, Pete has always had a pretty overactive
imagination fueling his creativity and love for music and video
games. His head was always up in the clouds, even in school,
and for awhile there, the Hopkins thought Pete might have had
a learning disability since his grades were always so low through
elementary and junior high, continuing into high school. Pete
just never could hold his attention on one thing for too long
unless it really interested him. Needless to say, school never
really piqued his interest. He was often found blurting out
inappropriate jokes and tapping his pencil quickly against the
desk much to other students' annoyances.
During sixth grade, Mr. and Mrs. Hopkins, worried about their
son's academic performance, took him to see a specialist where
he was diagnosed with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity
Disorder) and put on the appropriate medication (Ritalin), which
he still takes to this day. The medication has eased Pete's
need to constantly be doing something but he's still often found
with his thoughts elsewhere while in class and his grades still
suffering. Fortunately, he does enough just to get by.
His condition could also possibly explain his love life or lack
thereof. Pete often develops crushes on unattainable girls,
each week having a new crush as his mind and heart wander quickly.
Neighborhood: Kensington - The
Hopkins reside in a four-bedroom family home.
Job: None
Vehicle: An old run-down van
he uses to carry his music equipment in
Best Friend(s): Zak Zellers -
perhaps it's their love for beautiful women and video games
that the two young men bond over, for the insults Zak often
throws Pete's way would keep many away, but he's learned to
deal with them and just brush them off.
Dating Status: Single. Deep down,
Pete is a hopeless romantic that will go to any extent to win
a girl's heart - this makes him slightly vulnerable and he usually
finds himself getting his heart broken.
Social Status: Middle - while
Pete would never be found hanging out with the jocks or fab
four, he's found to be tolerable by many and even likeable to
some extent.

Other Information: Pete has a
passion for music and is often seen hanging out at the Amplifier
or wherever else you can find a live band playing. He plays the
bass and guitar and is desperately posting ads looking for other
musicians to get a band off the ground with.
Pete's current obsession is a rather daring one to say the least
- he has a new goal and is rather determined to accomplish it -
to get Cassie Albernathy to smile. An odd goal to say the least,
but Pete, being the optimist he is, doesn't see a reason why
anyone should be that sad and isolated. Though following two
rather big rejections, he's been hanging back from seeing her
and actually hasn't seen her all semester. He's made some New
Year's Resolutions though that have her name attached to them.
